The SickKids Global Child Health Course (SGCHC), an open access e-learning resource, aims to expose students and health workers to key issues in global child health, especially from a low-income setting perspective.

This course will provide participants with exposure to multiple aspects of global child health through varied teaching pedagogies while supporting the Centre’s commitment to advancing the global agenda for newborn, child and adolescent health through sustainable capacity building. Course content focuses on child health in the context of its linkages with maternal health, global burden of disease, key health issues in child survival, intervention priorities and barriers.  The online course includes the following five modules:

M1  Module 1: Introduction to Global Child Health
M2  Module 2: Issues and Interventions in Maternal and Neonatal Health
M3  Module 3: Concepts of Health in the Under-Five Child
M4  Module 4: Health Priorities in the School-Age Child and Adolescent
M5  Module 5: Early Childhood Development
